Welcome to TeleHealth!
This is what you will see when using TeleHealth with me through Simple Practice.
This video shows you exactly what the process looks like taking all the mystery out of it!
The Benefits of Telehealth Counseling
It’s no secret that current generations value mobility. Smart phones, computers, and flexible work-from-home jobs have created a new work environment. Physical presence is no longer required for communication or therapy.
An increasing number of therapists are offering telehealth counseling. This involves a therapy session conducted via video conference, as opposed to in-person treatment. It can also include group counseling or a mental health program where video conferencing is used for check-ins. These video sessions can be conducted anywhere, at any time that fits within the schedules of the client and the therapist.
There are often fewer obstacles when attending an appointment virtually.
Needless to say, having the option of mobile therapy can increase flexibility and ease of treatment. Without needing to be concerned with location or timing, it can be easier to coordinate with one’s therapist. It can also facilitate more consistent therapy. There are often fewer obstacles when attending an appointment virtually. Many individuals note that a lack of childcare or delay caused by commuter traffic contributes to their missing an appointment. The option of telehealth counseling reduces the time commitment one must make. Many client make an appointment during their lunch hour!
Despite the popularity of digital communication, some may still question “virtual therapy”.
How can it be the same as sitting across from someone in person?
The good news is, data shows telecounseling is as effective at treating mental health disorders as an in-person therapy session. The importance of facial cues are not lost with video conferencing. Furthermore, therapists are still able to offer the highest quality treatment. They can do this all while being location independent. Standard of care is important, and therefore it is key that all services offer maximum health benefits.
In many areas of the psychological field, telehealth counseling is transforming therapy. Many individuals who could benefit from mental health treatment either do not seek it or cannot get it. They may by location or a lack of mobility.
Telehealth counseling allows therapists to meet their patients where they’re at. Whether that’s in a hospital or a distant location far away from a city center, these factors no longer need to be roadblocks to seeking care. This increased accessibility has the potential to revolutionize the mental healthcare field.

Effectiveness of Treatment
Clients new to telehealth often ask me if it is effective.
Here are the results of a few studies:
Words that inspire...
“You are here, alive and awake and for whatever reasons you have fought your battles, it's time to start focusing on what strengths pulled you up when the entire world had knocked you down; That's where the virtue in self grows.”
“Always make decisions that prioritize your inner peace.”
My advice to clients...
...Start where you are; you don't have to know...come as you are...
